The purpose of my role
To provide a high standard of culturally appropriate, first point of contact nursing care to the residents of Aranui, in
collaboration with other health professionals and relevant services.
My passion for the role
Holistic practice. Being able to provide a service which isn’t just about a health issue. It’s about the whole person
(physical, mental/emotional, spiritual), their whanau and health promotion. I love having the opportunity to work with and refer to services to cater to the individual health needs of my patients.
Responsibilities of my role
Being the first point of contact for health services.
Maintain a high level of communication between individuals and services.
Clinical assessment, health screening.
Health promotion – patient education.
Encompassing the Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and empowering people.
Utilising and liaising with appropriate services based on individual/whanau needs.
Initiate and maintain connections with services and local people of Aranui.
