Community Law Canterbury

Free legal help - Tuesday afternoons - 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm

Community Law Canterbury provides quality free legal help, information, support, education and outreach clinics to people in Canterbury who face barriers to accessing justice. Community Law centres are non-profit organisations with a role of responding to the unmet legal needs within a community.

In Aranui we provide free legal advice drop-in clinics once a week at Aranui Heartlands. Clients will be able to consult a solicitor and receive advice, information and access to all services of Community Law Canterbury when at the Aranui drop-in clinic. We are able to witness most documents. Unfortunately we are unable to help you prepare your will but may be able to point you in the right direction.

In some cases Community Law Canterbury are able to provide help beyond legal advice. Help can include preparing submissions, writing letters or representation at hearings. This is limited and done on a case-by-case basis. We are able to witness most documents.

We are also able to give legal talks and seminars to many different groups and organisations on all sorts of legal issues. To request a talk for your school, group, organisation or event, then contact the education team and see what we can do for you.
